Data Methodology
How We Score Pre-IPO Companies
The Pre Market Watch IPO Readiness Score is a directional, weekly-updated index that combines public filings, secondary-market activity, and funding signals to gauge how close a private company may be to a public listing.
Signals we track
- Late-stage funding activity (Series E+, tender offers, secondaries)
- Reported and rumoured S-1 / regulatory filing progress
- Secondary-market valuation trends and bid/ask spreads
- Banker mandates, IPO advisor hires, and roadshow signals
- Industry comparables and peer IPO activity
- Public statements from executives and board members
Score scale
Scores range from 0–100. Companies above 75 are typically within 12–24 months of a potential listing. The current cohort average sits at around 68.
Update cadence
Rankings refresh weekly. Major events (filings, funding rounds, leadership changes) can trigger intra-week score changes.
Limitations
Scores are directional, not predictive. Many private companies never go public, and timing can shift due to macro conditions. All content on Pre Market Watch is for informational and educational purposes only and is not financial advice. See our Disclosures.
